I’ve recently made the move from leading the UX team at Bed Bath & Beyond in the NYC area to the midwest, where I’m the Senior Manager for Customer Experience Design at Ascena Retail Group. While you may have never heard of it, we own and operate such brands as Ann Taylor, Loft, Lane Bryant, Dress Barn, Justice, Catherines, and Maurices. I’ve been brought on board to bring a central hub for UX Design to all the brands. While I’m still settling in, it is an exciting opportunity to work with and lead the way for designing for several different brands and incorporate usability standards that we can implement in each of the sites.

Previously, I was the Interaction Design Lead, and then the User Experience Manager for Bed Bath & Beyond. Over the course of the last couple of years, I helped establish an in-house User Experience team that has grew to be valued by the various sides of the business and IT, from in-store operations, to mobile, to e-commerce.

Design has been my passion for all my life, from loving art as a kid, to studying architecture in college, to designing digital experiences for internationally known companies. From concepting and wireframing, to the visual design and development of a site, my goal is keeping things simple and beautiful.

Hailing from Wyoming, Indiana, North Carolina, and New Jersey, I’ve lived all over the country. I’ve been to 43 of the 50 states, and did an internship in Dublin, Ireland. I love adventure, new things, and challenges. Having gone to school for architecture, I learned early on that the design of things was a lot more my speed than the engineering and math. What I learned from designing physical spaces has translated into designing digital spaces, where I work to simplify how people interact with the online world.

When I’m not working, I enjoy being outdoors with my wife and son, hiking, trail running, or enjoying some scenic drives and trails in my Jeep. We travel to state and national parks, have hiked part of the Appalachian Trail in NY, and our son (even though he’s only 2 1/2) is already loving the great outdoors.
